Transforming Lives Through Christ

What do we need to be saved from?

1. God made everything to work perfectly under His loving rule (Romans 1:20).

2. Sin ruined a perfectly working world (Romans 1:25).
[Sin is anything we think, say or do that rejects God or His instruction to us. It is self-centered rebellion toward God.]

3. Sin comes naturally to all of us (Romans 3:23).

4. Sin deserves God's judgement and our separation from Him (Romans 6:23).

If we can't work our way to God, what did He do to come to us?

5. Jesus came to save us from God's punishment and to restore our relationship with God (Rom. 3:20-22).
[Jesus "saves" us from God's judgement by: (a) living his life in perfect obedience to God in our place and (b) taking God's punishment for our sin in our place.]

6. We can receive forgiveness of sin through confessing our sinful rebellion to God and believing in Jesus Christ ALONE for our salvation (Romans 5:1, Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 John 5:13)

What happens next?

7. God will now be working in you to restore how you were created to be (Romans 6:22, Ephesians 2:10).

8. Soon, God will restore everything so that the world is working perfectly under His rule again (Rom. 8:28-30).
